Housekeeper/Chambermaid, Seasonal/Summer Job at The Barrington Inn

The Barrington Inn is looking for Housekeeping staff for our 7 guest rooms and 5 weekly rentals.

College students on summer break are encouraged to apply. Position runs from May 8 through October 12, with some flexibility on start and end dates.

The Housekeeping Team at The Barrington enjoys free housing with a kitchen, free laundry, and breakfast on days worked. Comfortable uniforms are provided. These positions are also bonus eligible.

The schedule is 5 days a week, with 6-hour shifts from 8am to 2pm. Days off would be mid-week. The schedule allows for additional island jobs or afternoons at the beach.

Candidates must be able to relocate to Block Island for the 2026 season.

Responsibilities

• Clean and tidy all guest areas to the standard as trained
• Partner with owners to deliver excellent customer service
• Manage laundry and linen service
• Manage daily workflow and communicate any issues as needed
• Handle some guest requests as needed
• Comply with health and safety regulations and act in keeping with inn policies

• Professionalism along with speed and attention to detail
• Knowledge of English language (preferred)
• High school degree or equivalent (preferred)
